Service Recommendation: PacketFlip.com High-Quality, Anonymous Proxies

November 23, 2008  |  General  |

We imagine that by this point, any regular readers of our blog know that we aren’t the type of folks who would give anything that we didn’t use and believe in ourselves a review. The only other thing we’ve publicly reviewed is AutoPligg, a powerful tool that is really beginning to catch on in the black hat community. We were one of the firsts to review it and still stand by what we wrote all of those months ago.

With that said, we’ve recently started doing business with a company called Packet Flip that provides us with high-quality, highly anonymous, private proxies. Aside from the great proxies, Packet Flip also does something that so few other proxy dealers seem capable of doing; they provide phenomenal customer service.

We’ve run a series of complex scraping campaigns using a large batch of proxies and have had zero issues. They are fast and we’ve had no experience with downtime. We talked with the owner of the company, Jonathan, before we made our initial purchase and were so delighted with his meaningful, honest responses to questions that make most proxy dealers cringe. He is also approaching this business, specifically business with the black hat and white marketing communities, from a long-term perspective that allows him to expand slowly as his business increases.

We’re so happy with his service, that we asked Jonathan if he would mind hooking us up with a coupon to give to all of our readers instead of an affiliate commission. He accepted and we’re happy to announce that if you go to Packet Flip’s website and enter the coupon code blackhatzen when you order, you’ll receive 10% off your first month.

If you’re wary of taking our word for it, contact Packet Flip through any of the following means and ask to review a proxy or two:

URL: http://packetflip.com/
Email: packetflip [at] gmail [dot] com
AIM: packetflip [at] gmail [dot] com
MSN: packetflip [at] gmail [dot] com
YIM: packetflip [at] yahoo [dot] com

Tell him that blackhatzen sent you.

  1. Can you suggest any other proxy providers other than them?

Also, I noticed this post was written back in November of 2008… Can you tell me if you still use them and how their service is today in respect to speed?

Do you use their “shared” proxies or their “private/exclusive” proxy service?

I am curious to know about the average speed that you can expect from them, their response time (on average) and what the maximum number of requests that you can send through their system on average per day? Do they start capping response time based on usage?

    • I still use them and wouldn’t use another company. I haven’t had any issues using them for loads of scraping projects over the past year. Because I use them in automated projects, speed isn’t a big concern, but I haven’t noticed any speed issues whatsoever. You should talk directly to PacketFlip regarding questions about limitations, but I haven’t personally run into any as far as I know.
